Special Areas Board operates a Youngstown Service Centre consisting of nineteen (19) equipment bays and cares for and maintains over 300 pieces of heavy equipment. We are seeking an experienced Tire Technician with effective organization and time management skills. This role entails overseeing the inventory of tires and related repair equipment. The primary responsibilities include the installation, balancing, rotation, and repair of tires across the Special Areas Board fleet, with tasks performed indoors and outdoors on various vehicles including light duty, heavy duty, and off-road vehicles. Additionally, the incumbent will operate a service truck (mobile tire changing truck) and promptly respond to on-site work requests, ranging from routine fleet checks to urgent repairs.

Requirements include:

• Grade 12 Diploma or GED equivalent
• Five (5) years of progressive experience in mechanical repair trade
• Valid Class 5 AB Driver’s Licence
• Competent working knowledge in the care and use of all tolls and equipment common to this position
• Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy, tact and discretion in dealing with requests, complaints, and clarification of information
• Physical capabilities to perform the job duties required
• Intermediate computer skills with average working knowledge of the MS Office Suite
