The Special Areas Board is currently seeking a skilled Tire Technician with strong organizational and time management abilities. In this role, you will manage the inventory of tires and related repair equipment, ensuring efficient workflow. Primary functions include the installation, balancing, rotation, and repair of tires for the Special Areas Board fleet, working both indoors and outdoors on a variety of vehicles, including light-duty, heavy-duty, and off-road equipment. The position also involves performing maintenance and inspections on water pumps to ensure peak operational performance and coordinating with the Service Writer for the timely delivery of pumps and discharge hoses.

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 12 or GED (or equivalent), combined with progressive experience in the mechanical repair trade and fleet preventative maintenance
  • Competent working knowledge in the care and use of all tools and equipment common to this position
  • Ability to communicate effectively using courtesy, tact and discretion in dealing with requests, complaints and clarification of information; proven ability to use good judgement to interpret, analyze and modify methods and procedures.
  • Physical capability to perform the job duties required – lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Intermediate computer skills with average working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
