The Special Areas Board seeks a reliable and safety-conscious individual to join our Facilities team as a seasonal Maintenance Service Worker. This temporary full-time position will perform routine manual work in a variety of fields. Reporting to the Facilities Foreman, this role will assist skilled tradespeople with construction, renovation and repair activities while ensuring a clean and safe work environment.

Requirements:

• Mowing, weed whipping, debris cleanup and other landscaping needs
• Snow removal including operating a shovel, leaf blower, snow blower and skid steer
• Loading and unloading materials
• Fencing and repairs; site cleanup and organizing
• Working with hand tools and power tools necessary to complete tasks not associated with trades
• Assisting carpenters with construction tasks including construction, maintenance and repair of facilities
• Assisting other trades in completing corrective and preventative maintenance tasks on a variety of equipment such as boilers, furnaces, HVAC equipment, electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Assist in ground disturbance tasks including digging with and without mechanical equipment
• Perform general maintenance needs to offices, fire halls, grader shops, water buildings and all other facility
