The Special Areas Board is seeking motivated and skilled individual to join our team as an Equipment Operator II. This role focuses on operating medium construction and maintenance equipment, supporting road maintenance, shop operations, and other essential infrastructure projects. These positions are responsible for operation of equipment within predetermined standards of Special Areas polices and procedures.

Requirements:

• Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent (GED); combined with at least two (2) years of progressive experience in the operation of operating equipment in a variety of construction and maintenance applications. A combination of experience/education/training will be considered.
• Minimum Class 5 Operator’s License, issued by the Province of Alberta is required
• Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform routine maintenance and assist with repairs; combined with strong attention to detail and ability to work within precise tolerances; flexibility to transition between seasonal roles and tasks.
• Competent working knowledge in the care and use of all tools and equipment common to this position; Knowledge of workplace safety standards, including operating in proximity to personnel, equipment, and infrastructure.
• Physical capability to perform the job duties required. Lifting of over 50 lbs., ability to enter and exit equipment/trucks and commitment to adapting to weather and operational demands year-round is required
