Equipment Operator I- Roadside Spray Operator

Make your summer count by gaining hands-on experience in municipal vegetation control and roadside maintenance. Whether you’re starting your career or bringing experience in land, agricultural, or environmental work, this role places you outdoors supporting weed and vegetation management along municipal roads and rights-of-way. You’ll assist with the safe handling and application of herbicides, operate spray equipment, complete required documentation, and conduct routine inspections while contributing to safe road conditions. Working alongside experienced staff, you’ll take on meaningful responsibility and develop practical skills that support future opportunities in municipal operations, agriculture, or environmental services from late spring through summer.
- Grade 12 (or an equivalent combination of education and experience)
- A valid Pesticide Applicator’s License is required or a willingness to obtain prior to employment
- Valid Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
- Physically able to perform fieldwork, including lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs.
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with equipment
- Excellent customer service: able to use courtesy, and discretion to solve problems
