In this position you will be responsible for group facilitation of children, youth and parents, family assessment and intervention, providing education to parents in the areas of a child's physical, emotional, and social developmental milestones, life skills training, mentorship in the areas emotional, behavioral and social development for youth, linking families with community services, family support and advocacy, driving clients to and from designated locations, working with families to engage, teach and support them in achieving their full potential with their children (ages 0 - 18 yes.).
Requirements include:
- Diploma in the Human Services Field and minimum 2 years human services experience (consideration will be given to those with partially completed education)
- Proof of Membership in Professional Association (when applicable)
- Proven record of group facilitation
- Knowledge of parent/child relationships and family dynamics
- Can model appropriate parenting skills
- Strong organizational/time management skills
- Ability to work as a member of a professional team as well as independently
- Good decision making and problem-solving skills
- Be flexible and have strong interpersonal skills
- Standard First Aid - Level C CPR, Suicide Intervention Training and De-Escalation Training
- Intervention Record and Criminal Record Check with the vulnerable sector
- Class 5 Driver's Licence, Clean Driver's Abstract and reliable vehicle for occasional client transportation required
- Knowledge of the Child, Youth, Family Enhancement Act
- Knowledge and experience within the Signs of Safety framework considered an asset
